One Step Forward, One World Back

A child of mine may need serious medical help that could set us back $37,000. Really —just as I start to seriously work on getting out of debt, this comes along. But I’m just grateful I have some room on a credit card to pay for this.

Yes, that sounds nuts. But nature made parents totally susceptible to being nuts enough to abandon self interest for the welfare of their children.

I hope I won’t have to incur this debt. I hope that insurance will step up. But even if it doesn’t I will do whatever I need to take care of my child.

I also know that my year of no shopping will keep me on track so that I can spend what I have on what matters and not on what doesn’t.
